I forgot my birthday...oops!!!

When I just got into my BBA, it was 2nd August, 2005. Like everyone even I was very much excited after getting into college-life. I was busy making friends and getting familiar with Indore. My birth date is 6 August. I was so busy in these things that I forgot my B-day. I was not carrying any mobile, and used to live as a PG (no chance of getting a call in the night). I got up at 8 (like a normal day), took bath, and went to college. As I was new, nobody knew my birthday.

I reached my room, and my owner told me that so many people called for me. I did not know about all those persons and the reason to call. After sometime I had one more call for me, I received it, and guess what? The day was my birthday, and the call was of my parents. I was so shocked, and was questioning myself that how can anyone forget his birthday. And after that, my day was full of happiness.

I will tell you what happens actually. I felt good because I was not having any expectation with anyone. I totally forgot my birthday, and was wished later. This is the same thing which comes in our life very often. We have so many expectations with the person around us, that we completely make our feelings dependent on them.


NEVER EVER EXPECT ANYTHING FROM ANYONE, OR GET READY TO SUFFER.

PRETENDING PROTECTION

Protection can simply be defined as the process of keeping safe. Protection is everywhere, whether it be that for family planning, for country Borders, for the family, while climbing, or for anything else. There are many people who want to protect themselves all the time no matter what they are doing.

People want to protect themselves so that they can be free from all tensions, but the reality is this that people get anxiety, nervousness and pain when they think of protecting themselves. When you try to protect yourself, you can never be able to get protected for sure. Your success is totally unpredictable. If you don't get success, then you are more likely to have a introduction of its running mates (Anxiety, nervousness, and pain).

People who try to protect themselves, don't want to show their real self, because these are the people who want their identity to be hidden. So, don't try to protect yourself, and you will be able to avoid its running mates.

NEVER TRY TO PROTECT YOURSELF, YOU MAY NOT SUCCEED,
EVEN IF YOU TRY TO, IT IS NOT REAL YOU.

COMMUNICATION LEAKAGE

People believe more on unidentified sources in comparison to the official source.

People generally don't believe whatever is being communicated to them from a known source. We can take a simple example of parents and their child. If someone comes at complains about the child to parents, then parents are more tend to believe them, even if the child is innocent. And if the parents trust their child a lot, then this would atleast create some kind of bugs in their mind.

But, why to take this thing in a negative way always? Lets make it a bit easier for us. Next time when you want anything to be communicated to a large number of people, just leak it to some person, and your job will become easier at no expense.

Even large organizations can use it when they have some important plans for the employees. What they have to do is just to leak some positive and real information about the plan, and their work is done.

"Communication skills when used in right way, can create wonders,
If you are not at all able to do that, be ready for the blunders."

GOT LAID-OFF?, YOU STILL HAVE THE OPPURTUNITY

Even after getting laid-off, you need have to lose your hope. Why? Just have a look at this video.

JUST AN EXCUSE

Have you ever come across a situation, where a person has done something to you, and then have said sorry? I guess a lot of times. Right?

There are some people who are having a habit of saying sorry, or presenting excuses after everything they do. It will not be true for the person, who is having a bad fate, where whatever he does becomes wrong for the others. But, many a time people are not able to understand what is the reality.

Why people excuse after doing anything? I am not targeting everyone here, I am just talking about those people who are habitual of it with having fate with them. There will be only one thing which we can think about these kind of persons -

"THE PERSON IS DOING ONLY THAT, WHICH HE/SHE WANTS TO DO"

So, next time, when you come across such a people, please use your Brain, and try to find out whether the thing which was done, was intentionally done or not.

INTELLIGENT THINKER

I have came across so many people who feel that they are very intelligent, and even the people around them feel that they are intelligent. Majority of us are having a perception that intelligent people really rock the world. But, what do we really mean by Intelligence?

Wikipedia says, "Intelligence is an umbrella term used to describe a property of the mind that encompasses many related abilities, such as the capacities to reason, to plan, to solve problems, to think abstractly, to comprehend ideas, to use language, and to learn."

In other terms, we can define Intelligence as the power and potential of the Brain. Even Edward de Bono stated in one of his books on thinking, that intelligence has nothing to do with the what you think. Intelligence and Thinking are not interconnected in any ways.

Having only the power and potential of the Brain to do anything does not gives you a great idea. It is all depended on the efforts which you put to use that power to convert into a useful thinking. It is only because of this reason that many times an intelligent person may not be able to think properly, whereas a person who is not that much intelligent can think of a great plan. The only matters here is your ability to use what you posses.

"Don't consider yourself Intelligent, till you have the ability to use it."

Tensionless Pension

A worker starts his life with a dream of getting a secured job. His this dream gets fulfilled when he gets a job in a PSU. Earning Rs. 1,512 a month makes him feel like he is on cloud 9. But things do not end here. With a dedicated servive of more than 40 years, he reaches a figure of Rs. 5,308 per month.

By that time, this worker is blessed with an old counter-part, 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws, and few grandchildren. The daily wish-list of the grandchildren for toys, the unstoppable medical bills, and other regular household expenditure force him to think, think about the future ahead, that is future with a sum of Rs. 5,308, or even the lesser amount of pension.

According a recent survey on Indian household, 67% of the parents are not being taken care of by their successors. So, the real challenge that comes to these workers is - "How to live rest of the life?"

Thanks to the Indian Government, and that too AICGPA (All India Central Government Pensioners’ Association. With the implementation of the sixth Central Pay Commission Report, the worker are getting their pension which is more than that of the salary which was being paid to them. The worker who used to earn Rs. 3,607 as salary, is now getting Rs. 15,000 as his pension. This pension is also liable to increase with every five years.

This has definitely put these workers out of the tensions. Now, they are buying some extra toys, having proper diets, and keeping care of their health. This has brought them -

- Freedom from fear
- Freedom from anxiety
- Freedom from unnecessary tensions
- Freedom to be self
- Freedom to live

Employee Poaching

Employee Poaching can simply be defined as going after the other company's employees. Though poaching is illegal, still many companies are practicing it. The reason being getting the finest of the employees. Google and Apple were not exceptions.

Few years back, these two giants decided to have a non-poaching agreement, where Google will not go after Apple's employees, and Vice-versa. This is not a written agreement and is considered non-official, but they implemented in such a way that the recruitment divisions of both the companies follow it.

The questions arises here is this that whether employee poaching is ethical or unethical? Well, as the ethics can be universally defined, so this will always be a question.

ETHICAL : There is an obvious points here, i.e., employees in this case will be a sandwich. The Google employee who want to work in Apple, will not be successful in the same, no matter how interested he is.

The other aspect can be the employee's right to free access to the market. Though poaching is beneficial for an organization, but it is not for an employee. The employee's KSA may be worth appreciation and a comparatively better job at a better place.

UNETHICAL : The current employee working on a important project has received a good offer for job from other company. The employee decided to leave the current organization for better opportunities. What will happen to the current organization in this case? Obviously, it can not have a immediate hire.



Solutions for Employee Poaching:

1. It is only due to this that organizations have started a BOND SIGNATURE rule, where a contract is being signed between the employee and the employer for a fixed period of time.

2. Including the non-compete clause in the employment contract.

3. Charging high amount if the employee breaks the contract.


There are many other solutions which varies from companies to companies, but the dilemma will always be there about the ethics question.
